Accessibility statement
SecureDoors Israel wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this site and our services easily. The site was built to meet Israel’s Service Accessibility Regulations 5773-2013 and Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA. Having trouble? Call 055-508-8444 or email securedoorsisrael@gmail.com.
Which accessibility rules does the site follow?
The site was built to meet the following requirements:
- Israel’s Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations 5773-2013, in particular Regulation 35 on internet services.
- Israeli Standard IS 5568 (ת“י 5568), which is based on the W3C’s WCAG 2.0 guidelines at level AA, with the adaptations made in the Israeli standard.
Accessibility is ongoing work: we check and improve the site regularly, and every new page follows the same principles.
What accessibility measures are in place?
Structure and navigation
- Semantic structure: every page is divided into clearly defined regions (header, navigation, main content, footer), with a consistent heading hierarchy and a single main heading.
- Skip link: a “Skip to content” link appears at the top of every page when you press Tab, taking you straight to the main content.
- Full keyboard navigation: links, buttons, the menu and the form all work with Tab, Shift+Tab and Enter, with a clearly visible focus outline on the active element.
- Accessible mobile menu: the menu button tells screen readers whether the menu is open or closed, and the Esc key closes it.
- Orientation: breadcrumbs at the top of pages, the current page marked in the menu, and the same navigation across the whole site.
Language, reading direction and text
- Declared language and direction: each page states its language and reading direction (Hebrew right to left, French and English left to right). Phone numbers display in the correct order even inside Hebrew text.
- Readable font: a clear typeface covering both Hebrew and Latin letters, hosted on the site itself.
- Contrast: dark text on light backgrounds, with colors chosen to meet level AA contrast ratios.
- Zoom: the layout adapts to any screen size and does not block zooming; it is designed to stay readable when you enlarge the page up to 200% (Ctrl and + on a computer, pinch on a phone).
Images, forms and content
- Text alternatives: meaningful images have alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Accessible form: every field in the contact form has a visible label, required fields are marked, error messages are linked to the relevant field, focus moves to the first field that needs fixing, and the confirmation message is announced by screen readers.
- Comfortable buttons: call and action buttons are at least 44 pixels tall, making them easier to use on touch screens.
- Nothing flashing: no auto-playing video or audio, and no flashing content.
- Cookie banner: usable with the keyboard, and can be reopened at any time with the “Cookies” button at the bottom of the page.
No accessibility overlay
We have not installed a floating accessibility toolbar or plugin. Accessibility is built into the site’s code, so it works with screen readers and with the tools already in your browser and operating system (zoom, high contrast, reader mode).
Which known limitations are under review?
Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. The following points are currently being reviewed:
- A full audit of every page with screen readers (such as NVDA and VoiceOver) and on a range of devices.
- Alternative text for photos: new images are being added gradually, and some descriptions may be incomplete until the review is finished.
- Contrast of some secondary elements, such as the brass-colored decorative accents.
- External services (WhatsApp, Google and other services the site links to) are run by third parties; their accessibility is outside our control.
If you run into any of these issues or any other difficulty, please let us know so we can fix it.
Which browsers and assistive technologies work best?
The site is designed to work with current versions of the main browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge) on computers, tablets and phones. We recommend using an up-to-date browser and assistive technology (screen reader, magnifier or voice control).
